Artist Statement
Each day, when we make our way into the world and the world makes its way into our own immediate existence, unique and powerful images pass before us. Unfortunately, most of these images quickly sift through our consciousness without us ever taking notice. It is these visual encounters however, which have the power to both greatly enrich our lives and at times, even affect the way we view ourselves and the world around us. These ephemeral images of life reflect the unique diversity of our world.
This theme, by nature, is both incredibly varied and ever changing, much like the multifaceted and often unpredictable course of a memorable film, song or read. These mediums, like a camera lens, capture life in a variety of relatable emotions and offer new opportunities for contemplative thought, and perhaps, active change. These photographs strive to offer a glimpse into the subtleties of the immensely vibrant and engaging landscape that makes up the human experience, so often overlooked, yet offering so much.
